"In a heated moment, I decided to greet hate with hate," Kelce said, according to a 6abc Action News story. "I fell short this week."

Kelce was in State College for a Big Ten matchup between the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions when a fan began to heckle him as he was walking through a crowd, the Action News report states.

That's when Kelce grabbed the fan's phone and threw it to the ground before turning to confront the man, according to the Action News report. Another fan stepped between the two before the situation could escalate.

"In that moment I fell down to a level that I shouldn't have," Kelce said, the Action News report states.
